Yellow teddy bear at Doha's Hamad International Airport
Doha's Hamad International Airport sits in the middle of the airport's 23-foot-tall yellow teddy bear. Created ten years ago by Swiss artist Urs Fischer, it is made of bronze and weighs 20 tons. According to the official description of Hamad International Airport, the bear is a "lively and lovely creation that imbues the surrounding space with a human touch, reminding visitors of their childhood and treasures from their hometown". But the frisky work comes at a price: the bronze sculpture was bought at an auction in New York in 2011 for $6.8 million.
The teddy bear is said to be the pet of Qatar's little princess, so Qatar took the picture and put it in her airport.
